Rebecca Smith blog purpose

The purpose of my blog is to show other Heroes of War, H.O.W. I use photography as an outlet to relieve the stressors of working in healthcare. Without these hobbies the emotional damage caused by working in high stress emergency environments can eventually tear a person down. We are expected as nurses to go from a trauma or code blue and walk into the next patient’s room without missing a beat. 10 years of working in the ED field has cause me to have major bedside burnout. Without the help of H.O.W. I wouldn’t be able to teach others better coping skills with the use photography. My goal is to teach the same passion I have for photography to others. That anyone who loves taking pictures can achieve. We are not here to make any one a professional just here to help relieve stress and find beauty in the things around us after the dark days at work. I would love to know what you use to help cope being a Hero of War and why you have an interest in photography.
